Changing LAMal insurer
You are switching basic insurer on 1 January: here are the deadlines and the letter to send.
Switching basic-insurance provider is free and guaranteed by law. No insurer may refuse to cover you in basic insurance, regardless of your state of health.
- 1Cancel your current insurer before 30 November, by registered letter.
- 2Affiliate with the new insurer from 1 January — being uninsured is prohibited (cover is mandatory).
- 3Keep the registered-post receipt: it serves as proof of the receipt date.
